Carboot Shopping Sunday!

I've always loved carboot sales but I don't remember them being as popular in my youth. I guess I got the secondhand bug at an early age, as a child it was always about jumble sales - I used to go on a regular basis with my grandparents and have fond memories of musty village halls with piles of old clothes and toys.

But nowadays its all about the carboot - we're lucky, living in Blackpool there's plenty to choose from. Outside in neighbouring villages in the summer, in a variety of clubs and schools in the winter. Ironically we find we visit more in the winter due to the unpredictable british summer!

Things to remember to take:
1. Lots of change
2. Some emergency big money in case of car boot glory
3. Lots of empty bags - a couple of big market shoppers are ideal.
4. Water and sunscreen

We try to get out for 9am - unless you're antique hunting there's no real need to go earlier but go later and its too busy and takes ages!

This week I was especially looking for scarves and boots but also anything else that I think will be good to re-sell or re-work.

Here's what I got to re-sell:

The last two will be re-mixed - I love the 80's floral pattern skirt - I can make 2 dresses from this! The brass will get a new lease of life as necklaces (tutorials to follow!)

I always end up getting a few things for me too and I couldn't resist this leather jacket and matching skirt. Unfortunately there's no way the skirt will fit but the jacket is gorgeous. Shoulders studs and leather and lace - totally on trend for autumn winter. What a bargain at £4 for the suit! I'm thinking extra blonde hair, little black dress and killer stilletto's - don't forget the eyeliner!

And to complete "the look" an album from 80's / 90's pop group roxette.

  2. If you need buttons i can help you out! I have a house full - seriously I have thousands. They're mostly browns, greys and blacks and whites - not sure if these colours are of any use?
